Lise Sarfati

Lise Sarfati is a Magnum photographer that I just found. She works in a documentary style rather than fashion or surrealistic. She is another photographer whose work resembles film still. Her subjects are usually adolescents. In an article on her work (the guardian) , it is said that her photographs " evoke the strange sense of suspended time between youth and adulthood". She has got an obsession with the inner lives of the young people which she tried to illustrate in her images. Her images have a bit a mystery probably because she managed to combine portraiture with landscape very well in order to  tell a story.

Her project called SHE has caught my attention. I think these photographs show what the guardian stated about that moment between youth and adulthood. Her subjects, female adolescents, look as if they are unsure of what to do, which way to go, what to choose.

I believe this series is representative for the 2 obsessions that I have got because both illustrate that moment between being a teenager and becoming an adult.
